Meet Miss Tabitha, MA
Welcome to North Star Academic Tutoring! My mission is to guide young learners toward academic confidence, curiosity, and success.
My Teaching Journey
I have spent over 20 years cultivating a deep passion for education. My diverse background includes teaching in the private school sector and working directly within the homeschool community. I hold a Master's in Education Administration with an Elementary Education minor, along with a Bachelor's in Child Psychology with a Behavioral Science minor. This education and decades of experience have taught me that every child learns differently. I specialize in meeting elementary students exactly where they are, helping them discover their unique strengths, and making learning an exciting adventure.
A World of Experience
My approach to teaching is shaped by a global perspective. I am well-traveled and have lived abroad, experiences that instill a sense of wonder and a love for storytelling in my sessions. However, my favorite place to be is right here in Watertown, Wisconsin. I absolutely love living here, experiencing the beauty of all four seasons, and taking advantage of everything our wonderful state has to offer.
Life Outside the Classroom
When I am not tutoring, you can usually find me embracing both local comforts and new adventures. I am a big fan of cozy coffee shops, wandering through local bookstores, and diving into a great book. I still hold a deep love for travel and exploring new places.
At home, I am supported by my incredible best friend and marriage partner of 18 years. Together, we raise our two wonderful children (ages 17 and 11) and our beloved dog, Finley. Finley and I love going on long walks together through the neighborhood.
I look forward to partnering with your family and helping your child find their academic "North Star!"
